Welcome.
I’m glad you’re here.
Being a kid can be hard. Being a parent can be hard too. I’m here to help.
When growing up is hard to do…
Big feelings.
Big feelings happen to little people. It can be hard to find the words sometimes. Children don’t always know what they are feeling, they just know that they are having a big feeling. This can be overwhelming for a child and when they don’t yet have the words to express how they are feeling, we may see behaviors emerge.
Big behaviors.
No child wants to misbehave. Children do well if they can! Big behaviors may be a child’s way of trying to tell communicate something. We can work together to develop a better understanding of your child’s behavior and help them learn new skills to have more positive behaviors.
Big challenges.
Autism. Anxiety, ADHD. Oppositional Defiant Disorder. Developmental Disabilities. Hearing that your child has diagnosis can be scary. Labels and misconceptions prevail. You may be concerned that this challenge may be an obstacle to your child’s success. Truth is, this means your child has unique strengths and abilities. We’ll identify them and look for ways to help your child shine.
I can help your child and family with…
Transitions.
Transitions are a normal part of growing up. But moving, a new baby, a family illness, divorce, death, adoption, or other big changes can throw little people for a loop. A safe and supportive space to share how they feel about big changes can be just what your child may need to start feeling better.
Traumas.
Trauma may occur anytime a child experiences an event that they perceive as scary, violent or threatening to their wellbeing. It may be something they experience personally, or they have witnessed happen to someone else. The impact of trauma may last well into adulthood if it is not treated. Play therapy can help children find the words to speak about the unspeakable.
Trying times.
School issues. Sleep issues. Bullying. Sibling rivalry. Parent/child conflict. Terrible tantrums. The journey through childhood is not always an easy one. Every parent wants what is best for their child, but doesn’t always know how to help. Let’s work together to help your child be the very best version of themselves.
